Love in the time of War

Love in the time of War

In a time of war and a worldwide stand against corruption, revolutions take place not only in the streets of almost every country on earth, but in the hearts and souls of almost every human.
We stand back and re-think about the choices we’ve made daily to allow and somehow blindly support the corrupt regimes that have ruled us so far. And we say no more to them. No more destruction, no more killing, no more greed and hunger.
We want peace, and no matter how cliché that sounds, the people of our generation need this concept to become a reality more than ever.
It was once said “We have war when at least one of the parties to a conflict wants something more than it wants peace.” And it seems that now so many leaders in this world want a lot of things more than they want peace.
We sleep to bad news and wake up to news that’s even worse. It’s been a long time that we’ve heard about something genuinely good, and in the benefit of the human race in general.
Now I’m not writing this article to try to over-shadow what’s going on in today’s harsh world, or to belittle any of the serious issues we see everyday. I’m simply writing to say this; don’t forget to love and make love.
If love should disappear from our daily lives, and depression and anger take over our souls, nothing but darkness shall remain. If you go out into the street, smile to a stranger, or perhaps say something nice to the lady/man at the counter in your nearest supermarket.
Kiss your wife and don’t let your daily problems make you forget to tell her how much she means to you. Snuggle up next to your hubby in bed after a long day at work, watching the dreadful news together in each other’s arms.
Make love. Make love. I know it’s hard when you’re over stressed and over worked, but it can also be the best form of stress release believe it or not.
Call your family members, and even your neighbor, try to share good positive energy with those around you. I know it won’t stop the world from being what it is, but it might make your daily life a bit easier, filled with a bit more love.
The world might break our hearts, and sometimes screw up our heads, but our souls . . . our souls belong to us. And that’s something they can never take away from us. Our souls feed on love. So love.
