Ever since the first Disney princess was swept off her feet by Prince Charming, we girls have been expected to wait for the perfect date. Whether it’s flowers and candlelit dinner or a day out surfing, we all know how a man can impress us. But if you’re tired of sitting around in a fairy castle (or two bedroom flat) waiting for your white knight to come up with the perfect date, why not sweep him off his feet? We chatted to some men to find out how a girl can really impress with her date ideas.
1. Creativity
Just like us ladies, men like a woman who can be creative with her date ideas. Depending on your man’s hobbies, why not arrange something fun like a trip to the circus or a day at a theme park? He’ll appreciate the extra thought you’ve put in and think you’re more fun and interesting.
2. Be quirky and unique
Extra touches can be really nice on a date and boys appreciate them as much as we do. For example you could try organising a selection of activities and getting your date to choose one from a fistful of cards. It adds some extra spark to the date and it’ll be a fun surprise for both of you. If you’ve been dating your man for a while and really want to impress him, you could try organising an impromptu day off with his boss and spend the day spoiling him with treats and picnics.
3. Go somewhere you can talk
For first and second dates, the best idea is to go somewhere you can have a chat. A casual drinks date or low key dinner is ideal for the first time you meet. You need somewhere you can talk and get to know each other, without feeling overwhelmed.
4. All day dates
To show how creative you are, try arranging an all day date with different elements. If you’re based in Dubai you could start with quad biking in the desert, then drive back for an evening dinner and drinks at one of Dubai’s top hotels. If you’ve been dating a while it’s a great way to spend some quality time together and he’ll love how much you’ve spoiled him.
5. Foodie dates
Guys love to eat as much as we do so you can’t go wrong with a foodie date. If he’s creative and you’re looking for something interactive try a cooking class. Alternatively either prepare his favourite meal or take him out for his favourite type of cuisine
