Top 10 Christmas gift ideas for him

Top 10 Christmas gift ideas for him

Apart from the mulled wine and mince pies, the best thing about the festive season is the excuse to go shopping. Even if you fell out with the bank manager (or your husband) after last month’s spree, nobody can begrudge you bringing a little Christmas cheer to your relationship. That said men are notoriously difficult to buy presents for, particularly when your budget won’t run to an Xbox or an iPad. So if you’re struggling to get into the Christmas spirit and find him a great gift, check out our list of ideas.
A camera
These days we’re so busy snapping with our phones, we’re forgetting about the great range of camera technology there is out there. Check out the big malls to compare prices and choose the right option for your partner.

A football shirt
If your partner’s football mad, check out his team’s website for the latest strip. You can get it customise with his name and details and delivered to your home address. It’s also worth keeping an eye on eBay for signed football memorabilia like balls and shirts.

Concert tickets
Check out the line-up of bands in Dubai and see if you think any would take his fancy. It gives you a great excuse to get dressed up for a date later in the year too.
A cookery class
Only a good choice if your man loves to cook (or if you want to push him in the right direction), it might be fun to learn how to make a new type of cuisine.

A stocking
A good choice if you want to surprise him, find a stocking and fill it up with a selection of things you think he’ll love. Even if you’re low on cash you can pad it out with traditional treats like joke toys, sweets and fruit.

Promise cards
If you’re really struggling for money this year, or just want an extra surprise on top of his gifts, write out some promise cards. Include ‘cooking him his favourite meal’ and ‘taking him out dancing’ and hide them all in festive themed envelopes for him to find around the house.

A skiing lesson
Another great idea for those with active boyfriends, if your man’s never been skiing before, treat him to a lesson at Ski Dubai in Mall of the Emirates.

A weekend away
A present you can go halves on and buy for each other, why not treat yourself to a mini break early in the New Year? The UAE isn’t short on fantastic hotels but if you prefer you could book flights abroad in the sales.
A sports car driving experience
Dubai’s renowned for its flash cars, so why not treat your man to a day out as a racing driver? Available from the gift experience company DreamDays, there’s also plenty of other options to choose from if he’s not into fast cars.

Frozen Planet on DVD
David Attenborough’s Frozen Planet was one of the most popular documentaries in the UK. Definitely worth owning on DVD, it’s a great box set for curling up with after the New Year.
