Christoph Waltz wants to work with Miss Piggy
Christoph Waltz is looking forward to 'dancing' with Miss Piggy.
The German-Austrian actor is best known for portraying villains in films such as Inglourious Basterds and Water for Elephants.
It now looks like he could be taking a slightly different direction and taking a small part in the as-yet-untitled Muppets sequel.
Due to scheduling constraints the 56-year-old feared he wouldn’t be able to fit the role in, but he has now hinted he will try and make time for a small appearance.
'I was talking about it again today, but it might not be a proper part, it might be one of those, what they call ‘cameos’,' he teased Collider.com.
'I was looking forward to meeting Miss Piggy. But they told me that dancing with Miss Piggy for example is almost impossible, because she’s totally operated by puppeteers and you have to dance with someone where there’s actually a real person inside. So let’s see who I dance with!'
Christoph’s latest venture is a part in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, a brutal story about the slave trade.
The actor explained the original cut was almost long enough to make the epic tale into two separate films.
'Yes of course [there was footage cut], that was what we call the original. We shot film for probably four hours and it was clear from the beginning you couldn’t use all of it; at least not in one film,' he explained.
'They could have possibly made two out of it but that would have been a little counterproductive I think, because it’s important to experience that art from beginning to the end in one. The second part would always have been regarded as the sequel and it’s better that way. So inevitably, something would always have been lost.'
Django Unchained also stars Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio and hits cinemas from this week.
