Eddie Redmayne: Jackman is astounding
Eddie Redmayne has joked that Hugh Jackman was a 'nightmare' to work with on musical movie Les Misérables.
The actor made the tongue-in-cheek comment when asked how he found teaming up with Australian Hugh, who is widely regarded as one of the kindest people in Hollywood.
Eddie gushed that Hugh was such an inspirational co-star that the rest of the cast found themselves working harder when appearing in scenes alongside him.
'[What’s Hugh like to work with?] What a nightmare!' Eddie joked to Examiner. 'Believe everything you hear. He is the nicest man in the world, but he’s also one of the hardest working. His commitment and his talent raised the game on this film for us. He stepped up and we sort of had to step up to the mark there.'
Eddie continued to praise Hugh’s talent. He is in awe of Hugh’s ability to make a success out of anything he turns his hand to whether singing, dancing or acting.
'[What I love about Hugh is] how multi-talented this guy is. He feels like a throwback to a different generation of movie star, or entertainer who does sort of everything, he sings, he dances...' Eddie continued. 'But also, beyond that sometimes I feel like that can take away from the fact that at the core of it, he’s a staggering actor, a sensationally brilliant actor. That was the most inspiring thing.'
